Space Clearing Or Selling Your Home
Before you call the Space Clearers – Jacquelene Close Moore
Space Clearing is specialised, not as simple as just walking around your house with a smokey smudge stick, which is at times a very common thought associated whenever you mention space clearing.
Space Clearing can be helpful where there have been strange odours and a "cold" feeling in a room or the property caused by not so helpful presences or stagnant energy. There are a range of tools, energies, and techniques traditionally used in clearing, and it is important to come from a clear headed and open hearted space in order to do a clearing. Coming from a place of judgement or fear really doesn’t cut it in attempts of clearing, and may actually cause energies to stay with you are you attempt a clearing, or even become more amplified. This is why having an experienced professional do this is the best idea.
Before calling in anyone for a space clearing it is important to rule out the logical, practical, and simple reasons why your home doesn't feel right. For example, mould can be a sign that your roof is leaking or that you have a rising damp issue that is best solved with assistance from specialists in the building and construction industries. Mould really should be addressed quickly both for the physical and emotional health risks and also for the dank energy that comes in with it, and taking care of the cause of the physical problem with a property automatically starts shifting energy.
Some people can live in the worst position in the worst street and have a good life, others can live in the best position in the best street and still experience havoc. While there is a lot to be said for good placement of furniture, avoiding being on the end of a T intersection, these things can mostly be corrected, but ultimately, your home is an outward expression of the inner you. If you get that right then everything flows, because if your energy is moving intuitively toward better outcomes, you will naturally seek to harmonise your environment and clear any clutter and stagnation from your abode.
If your property is on the market and you aren't getting offers, before calling to organise a space clearing, please take the time to rule out all the logical, practical reasons it might not be moving, and avoid listening to your friend who may have had a space clearer in but has no training or professional experience in it. After all, and reasonable person wouldn't ask an accountant to book them flights and hotels, nor would they ask their travel agent to tune and service their car.
Things that turn potential buyers off or which they will use to reduce the purchase price:-
Over priced...
Sometimes callers ask me to quote to clear the energy at their property or ask why a property isn’t selling and I find my attention can be going straight to the price, rather than their assertion that their friends who don’t work as psychics told them there is an external “bad energy” blocking the sale. At times I correctly pick up that they only consulted the one real estate agent, and often I can tell them the exact price that either they have it on the market for and need to change it away from. Or I might tell them the price of an offer to come that they would ordinarily say “no” to even though they don’t have a realistic understanding of the current market in their area. If you haven’t had at least 3 different agents through your home before putting it on the market and without doing a price comparison of similar local properties, how do you know what a reasonable sale price is, and when you are actually missing a good deal that could have been made?
Colors and decor....
Colours can reflect our personality and energy, but what if you are so unique that you are one of a kind? You might love cobalt blue and hot pink, I know I do. But, if your home is a wall to wall “out of this world” collection of psychedelic colour, or funky wallpaper from the 70s, or if your favourite plate collection of different kinds of cats is hanging from ceiling to floor in every single room, chances are you have cut out possibly 90% of potential buyers. Those are the buyers who want “move in ready” and don't want to pick up a paint brush, hammer, or scrape your textured offerings from the walls. They don’t want to hire a skip and do a complete renovation... To ensure best sale results, pull it all back to neutrals... and if your kitchen is “shiney royal purple,” the same rule especially applies to you.
Clutter...
Not only does clutter block positive chi flow and reduce positive opportunities generally, it also makes it very confusing for potential buyers to firstly navigate your home at inspection, and secondly it makes it hard for them to imagine themselves in your home with their furniture if they can't see how big the room really is because of all your stuff clogging it up. Clutter can also appear in gardens, and if you can’t see your back door from the back fence due to the weeds, it’s time to get your mates and a whipper-snipper into action. I recall a number of different clients who in different circumstances couldn’t understand why their home felt uncomfortable. In each of these occasions I told them about the clutter being an issue. In each occasion they insisted I was wrong, only to be told my husband on arrival to do the clearing as demanded by the client that he actually couldn’t even get into some rooms or areas of the property due to it being chock full of it. With my reading confirmed as there has indeed been wall to wall hoarding inside the home, in some cases pet faeces all over the floor as also stated in the readings, in other cases entire back yards filled with items from construction and building sites complete with a number of inquisitive rats, which seemed quite used to the intrusion into their claimed space. It can be a cruel fate for your relatives for you to pass over and leave that kind of mess for your kids and others to have to clean up. Contact your local council who have connections to specialised services that provide counselling to help overcome the root cause behind such debilitating habits, and also and assist in clean ups to recreate your sacred space.
Compromise, and keep it real...
Your house sale is a commercial transaction.
Your house sale is a commercial transaction.
Your house sale is a commercial transaction.
You may feel emotional about selling, and it is normal to be emotional and sentimental about your home, after all you have been living in it, possibly for a long time. But if you can think of selling it as a commercial transaction, you are going to be more realistic about the price, and get a better and more likely to get a timely sale.
Kinds of things I hear from sellers that devalue or block a sale of their home: -
· “But the right buyer won’t mind the bright and ridiculously coloured bedroom, shouldn’t the right buyer just like it?”
· “I need to get at least this much in order to buy the other place.”
· “But don’t you see someone just coming forward to offer me to buy it without having to have an estate agent?”
As much as your angels may be guiding you, most of the rest of the population, some of whom may even hear your angels singing in the clouds above your property, will still wait to see you put it on the market first.
The market doesn’t ask you what your future plans or take that into consideration when you put your house up for sale. You can only sell a property for what the market thinks it is worth, independent of why you want that price.
When looking at real estate agents, I would also prefer to go with the agent who points at positives as well as focusing in on areas of your home that devalue it, while giving you clear advice about how to turn the negatives into a positives. People often come along for a reading or ask about a clearing and ask me whether to switch agents after choosing the agent that stroked the ego instead of being honest and realistic about price.
If you take the time to gain a good understanding of the current market of comparable homes in your area and take a walk through some of these comparable homes before putting yours on the market, you will end up with a better result. That is an especially important point and first step before calling me and paying to space clear the energy in your non-selling home.
A lot of the time, when I have been doing space clearings, calls from the agent have been received just as I start doing the clearing on the home. In one case I recall the owner said she would ignore the call that came in just as I got started. I hastily replied “No! Don’t do that it’s your real estate agent, answer it!” And, it was their agent. I told the owner to accept the agent’s request for an inspection for later that day. I explained that the person wanting to view that day would be the buyer, and to hold everything else off after the clearing, and book the inspection in. Of course the person who walked through that afternoon made an offer on the spot and the home sold that afternoon. Yet up to that point, the client hadn’t had a single viewing for the entire three months it was on the market leading up to that day. Many clients utilise space clearings to sell homes, but we never make any guarantees.
Often the space clearing in those cases can be first and foremost about moving the inflexible attitudes and owner might have, and in that client’s case she would have unconsciously blocked the sale had she followed her thinking of not answering the call, and then when she did, if she had gone ahead with her thinking of initially not wanting to change her plans for that afternoon in order to allow an inspection that day, which I talked her into, while in her home doing the clearing as she spoke to the agent on the phone. Flexibility is key to movement. Space clearing gets the energy moving, and sometimes moving means moving house.
In other cases clearing has been about lightening up the space, helping passed over loved ones let go and move on, and in other cases we have removed grumpy passed over prior owners who hadn’t completely let go yet. One of those homes I lived in as a rental, I helped the old man who died there come to terms with his passing, and was able to tell his neighbour all about him, and had to make up an excuse that I met someone who told me about the passed over prior owner rather than blow my cover at the time, and risk being ostracised. The neighbour was able to confirm my weird experiences with the “ghost truck” that periodically would rattle up the driveway loaded with reels of cables and so on, as apparently that used to happen a good 30 years prior to my moving there.
At times I have walked into places and been able to watch the history of the building in layers and moments through time, from the building’s inception to present day, and at times I have used this type of seeing in order to follow the path taken by someone who was present, and where they went afterwards. Places often carry the past impressions of people who lived or worked there, sometimes the presence felt is merely an imprint in time if you will, and other times there’s a lively and highly interactive spirit with much input, discernment is in knowing whether that input is helpful or to be ignored.
If you are having otherworld issues with guests who have gotten more than a bit roudy, and want to calm the farm, feel welcome to get in touch.
And, after all of that, what experience do I have in space clearing and housing that could possibly qualify me giving you these insights? Only 22 years professionally of space clearing and giving insight in readings often down to the dollar of hoe much the house will sell for or the listing price and why I feel it is unrealistic and contributing to the property not moving... And, in my own life, when I sold my first home, it was with an agent that I had a feeling about from the outset, and the home was on the market for two weeks, one of those weeks was Christmas, when the office was closed.
Feel welcome to get in touch.
